A walk through the woods looking for a badger leads to other creatures instead. Very beautiful illustrations.

For a young reader, a nice little nature study book. Helps little ones start to identify things viewed in nature. The words are simple such as: We went looking for Badger, we went looking north and south. but we only saw a Woodchuck with a whistle in his mouth." The illustrations are detailed and engaging. Lots to look at and identify. The drawings are more realistic in nature. The book covers such things and grackle, lizard, hornet, sparrow, and much more, all the while as they are still looking fo "Badger," using repetition to aid learning.
