Biddle wants to fly, like the four big birds that hold their feasts at his place. He draws a plan for a flying cup to be pushed and drawn by the birds. The birds agree to try this flying experiment, get corsets and are very excited to try Mr. Biddle's contraption. But the birds, being so young and excited, get uncoordinated, tangled up, and crash down from the sky with Mr. Biddle. He, though unharmed, is very disappointed and leaves. He thinks flying is no fun at all.

This is too much of an affront for the proud birds. They take a minute to think, coordinate, and concentrate. Then they fly to Mr. Biddle's hammock and surprise him. They pick up Mr. Biddle and fly off. The last thing we hear from him is "Flying is wonderful".
