One of five books about an old house which has a strange effect on all who stay in it - full of a 'sense of place'. This one is about a gorrilla growing up in the forest - lots of luscious description of a forest, trees, rivers and colourful inserts. Then the gorilla is captured and put behind bars in a London zoo, where he is visited by a Chinese boy who feels sorry for him and would like to see him free again.
