Josephine Lawrence's Next Door Neighbors is a good old fashioned story. A young girl is orphaned and must now live with her uncle, the Mayor of the town. Her uncle, a single man, tells the housekeeper to keep a close eye on her. He is worried that she will be wild like her mother. This book is a nice story of a simpler life.

Notes
This is one of a series of books written for young girls that will "awaken the fancy and stimulate the ambition", to inspire its readers to "do one's best in both work and play with due regard to the comfort and welfare of others". Fine motive for one published 90 years ago, but the need for such is still true today.
Book titles in this series by the same author include: - Wind's in the West
- Christine
- Glenna
- Rosemary
- Rainbow Hill
- Rosemary and the Princess
