Catriona (published in the USA as David Balfour) is the sequel to Kidnapped (1886). The novel follows David Balfour's attempts to secure Alan Breck Stewart and James Stewart's innocence for the murder of Colin Roy, the “Red Fox”. David is in Edinburgh, seeing to his own and Alan Breck Stewart's, affairs.

A sequel to Kidnapped, which was first published in 1886, and Catriona, published in 1893. They are both novels of adventure and romance whose appeal to children and adults alike has not diminished in the century since they were written.
