Felix, the orphan fairy boy is left outside the door of three dwarfs living in King Oberon's forest. With his sweet disposition, he changes their lives and that of all the animals in the forest.
This is an adorable little novel about a trio of grumpy (male) dwarves who unwillingly adopt an orphaned fairy infant and thereby learn to love and be loved by their forest neighbors. It is a short book, but the characters and setting are deftly drawn, with some lovely evocations of the seasons and some remarkably caustic social commentary that may sail right over the heads of young readers.
This is a funny, adorable story, with wonderful illustrations.
