John Ford Clymer RCA (January 29, 1907 – November 2, 1989) was an American painter and illustrator known for his nature works featuring the American West. Clymer created scenes on canvas portraying the factual history of the Old West: incidents in the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the experiences of noted frontiersmen, fur traders, gold seekers, cattlemen, pioneers and the early day Plains Indians.
This is a handsome presentation of Clymer's award-winning work. Includes over 60 full color plates of his finest paintings, and numerous black and white illustrations of his excellent pen and ink drawings. Foreword by Harold McCracken.
