Eager to find a friend, Mousekin sets out on a search for another creature like himself. He finds, however, that there are many things in the dark forest that can fool a mouse. "There are moths that look like owls and birds that look like mice and a misty night in springtime can make them all seem real." At the end of his adventures, Mousekin makes a discovery which renews the warm feeling of friendship for each one of us.
