Mary Steenburgen and Peter Coyote star in the movie, Mary portraying Marjorie Rawlings, who moved to an isolated Florida bayou in 1928, and by and by wrote the book, "The Yearling", for which she became famous. But this movie is about the years learning to live in the bayou and about the backwoods people she learns to care about.
