Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 9×13 baking pan or line with foil. In bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter, peanut butter, sugar, and egg yolk on medium-high speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes. Add flour, oats, and salt and beat on low until just blended, about 30 seconds. Press mixture evenly into prepared pan.
Bake crust until golden brown, 15-20 minutes (do not overbake). Remove from oven and scatter chocolate chips over crust. Return to oven for 1 minute. Remove pan again and spread chocolate evenly over crust. Sprinkle toffee pieces over chocolate, gently pressing into place with back of a spoon. Set pan on a wire rack to cool until chocolate has set, about 2 hours. Using edges of foil, lift dessert from pan, then cut into squares. Store in refrigerator. |
