In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in buttermilk. Combine flour, baking powder and cinnamon; gradually add to creamed mixture just until moistened. Fill greased or lined muffin cups one-third full. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and egg until smooth. Fold in berries. Drop a rounded spoonful into center of each muffin.
Streusel Topping Combine the flour, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over batter. Bake at 375° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Serve warm. Refrigerate leftovers. |
