Chewy Coconut Macaroons

2 1/2 cups flaked coconut
3/4 cup flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
Version Two
1 14oz pkg coconut (5 1/3 cups)
2/3 cup sugar
6 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp salt
4 egg whites
1 tsp almond extract
Toss coconut, flour, and salt. Stir in milk and extract until blended. Drop by rounded spoonfuls on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 300° 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks.

Version Two  Heat oven to 325°F. Mix coconut, sugar, flour and salt in large bowl. Stir in egg whites and extract until blended. Drop coconut mixture into small mounds, 2 inches apart, onto greased and lightly floured baking sheets. Bake 20 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Immediately remove from baking sheets to wire racks; cool completely.
