Orange Crème Crescent Pinwheels

4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp orange extract
Grated peel of 1 medium orange
1 can crescent dinner rolls
1 cup powdered sugar
Juice of 1 medium orange (1-2 Tbsp)
Heat oven to 375°F. In small bowl, stir together cream cheese, sugar, orange extract and orange peel. Set aside. Unroll dough into 2 long rectangles. Firmly press perforations to seal. Spread half of cream cheese mixture on each rectangle. Starting at short side, roll up rectangles.

With serrated knife, cut each roll into 8 slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, cut sides down. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from pan; cool completely. In small bowl, stir powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth. If too thin, add more powdered sugar. If too thick, add more juice. Drizzle over cooled pinwheels.
