1 lb Italian sausage
2 8-oz cans chicken broth
1 quart water
1 onion, finely diced
2 Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, finely diced
1/4 cup bacon bits
2 cups kale, chopped
1 cup heavy whipping cream
salt, pepper, red pepper flakes
Brown sausage then drain off grease. Stir in chicken broth and water. Add onion, potatoes, and garlic. Cook on medium heat until potatoes are done. Add sausage and bacon to potatoes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Turn heat to med-low and simmer 10 minutes. Add kale and cream. Heat through and serve.
