ZZ?  Buttermilk Biscuits with Sausage Gravy

Recipe Added:  5/8/2013
3 cups flour
2 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 stick cold butter, cubed
1 1/4 cup buttermilk
Gravy:
1 lb breakfast sausage
1/4 cup flour
4 cups milk
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
2 tsp black pepper
Preheat oven to 400. Add flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Cut butter into flour with pastry cutter. While stirring, drizzle in buttermilk until dough just comes together. Drop on two baking sheets, then bake 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown. Brush immediately with melted butter.

Brown sausage over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Sprinkle on half the flour and stir so sausage absorbs it, then add a little more flour until just before the sausage looks too dry. Stir and cook for another minute or so, then pour in milk, stirring constantly. Cook, stirring frequently, until it thickens, 10-12 minutes. Sprinkle in the seasoned salt and pepper and continue cooking until thick. Splash in more milk if needed. Adjust seasonings. Spoon gravy over warm biscuits and serve immediately.
