Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9x9 inch baking pan. Combine flour and salt; set aside. Stir butter and brown sugar until smooth; beat in egg and vanilla until well blended. Slowly beat in flour mixture until blended, then stir in coconut and chocolate chips. Scrape batter into prepared pan and smooth even with a rubber spatula. Bake 25-30 minutes, or until set in center but still soft. Do not over bake. Cool bars slightly before drizzling with chocolate, then cool completely before cutting into squares. For topping, combine chocolate and butter in a small bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals until melted and smooth. Using a spoon, drizzle over the bars. |
