How to: Cook Bacon in the Oven

Bacon
Aluminum foil or parchment paper.

Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Cut bacon strips in half and spread across the pan. Place the baking sheet on the middle rack of a COLD oven. Set oven temperature to 400F and bake for 25-35 minutes. Remove from oven when it is crisp for personal preference. For crumbling bacon, bake another minute or two longer.

Immediately remove bacon from pan and place on paper towels to soak up grease. When bacon has cooled, place on another plate and put the paper towels it was draining on onto the baking sheet. Then with the foil, wrap it tightly around the paper towels and then toss into the garbage can.

Leftover bacon can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. The bacon can also be frozen for up to 1 month.
