Pumpkin Dinner Rolls

2 tsp active dry yeast
1 1/2 cup warm water (110°-115°)
1 1/4 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
4 1/2 cup white flour
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add pumpkin, butter, sugar, eggs, salt, spice and whole-wheat flour, beating until smooth. Stir in enough white flour to make a soft dough. Turn onto lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top and cover. Let rise in a warm place until doubled. Punch dough down.

Turn onto lightly floured surface and divide into 3 portions. Roll each portion into a 12" circle; cut each circle into 12 wedges. Roll wedges, large end to small end, crescent roll style. Places 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Cover; let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. Bake at 400° F for 10-12 minutes. Cool slightly and serve.
