Parmesan and Cheddar Cheese Bread

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
3 cups flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
3/4 cup Cheddar cheese,cubed
1 1/4 cups milk
3 Tbsp butter, melted
1 large egg lightly beaten
3/4 cup sour cream
Preheat oven to 350. Spray loaf pan, then sprinkle 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese evenly in bottom. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Mix in cheese cubes, breaking up clumps, until cheese is coated with flour.

In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and sour cream. Gently fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined. Do not overmix. Scrape batter into loaf pan; spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan over top.

Bake with rack in middle position until deep golden brown, 45-50 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack 5 minutes; remove loaf from pan and continue to cool, about 45 minutes. Cut into slices and serve.
