Triple Chocolate Drops

Recipe Added:  11/29/2011
2 cups flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup sour cream

Drizzle
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
4 oz white chocolate, chopped
Preheat oven to 350F. Spray or line two baking sheets. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a medium bowl. Gently whisk together to blend. In bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar together at medium speed until light, about 2 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.

At low speed, add 1/3 of dry ingredients and mix. Add 1/2 of sour cream and mix. Add another 1/3 of dry ingredients followed by remainder of sour cream. Finally add last of dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Using a wooden spoon, stir in chocolate chips.

Drop dough by spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets. Bake 12-13 minutes until edges appear done. Do not overbake. Transfer cookies to a wire rack and cool completely.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate until smooth. Scrape melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag and seal. Cut a tiny hole in a bottom corner and drizzle cookies with white chocolate in thin parallel lines. Refrigerate cookies for 5 minutes or until set.
