Heat oven to 350°F. Combine butter, sugar and brown sugar in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add eggs and almond extract; mix well. Reduce speed to low; add flour and baking soda. Mix well. Stir in coconut, almonds and 1/2 cup white baking chips.
Drop mixture by rounded tsp fuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 11 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely. Glaze Place 3/4 cup white baking chips and shortening in small bowl. Microwave on high, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted, 1 to 2 minutes. Drizzle over cooled cookies in a crisscross pattern. |
