Broccoli Salad

12 oz fresh broccoli florets
12 oz pkg broccoli slaw
1 cup Craisins
1 cup toasted salted sunflower seeds
8 slices bacon, cooked, finely crumbled
1/4 small red onion
Dressing
1 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
2 Tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup white sugar
To crumble bacon, preheat oven to 400. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil, then place a layer of paper towels on top. For best results, use thin bacon. Place bacon strips on top of paper towels. Bake 12-15 minutes (time depends on thickness of bacon) then remove from oven.

Remove bacon from pan and pat with paper towels to absorb any remaining grease. When cool, crumble finely. Discard paper towels and aluminum foil used on baking sheet.

Toss together salad ingredients in a large bowl. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together dressing ingredients. Chill at least 1 hour before serving. When ready to serve, drizzle dressing over the salad.

Notes
May also substitute sliced red grapes or golden raisins for Craisins, or cashews or slivered almonds for sunflower seeds. A Family Favorite.
